Factors associated with student satisfaction within a regional student-led physiotherapy clinic: A retrospective qualitative study

Clinical education requires students to integrate theoretical knowledge and skills into real-life clinical environments. Most opportunities remain within metropolitan hospitals where student is often secondary patient care. In response, many Universities are developing student-led clinics that focus on the educational experience, whilst providing high-quality Understanding factors associated with satisfaction physiotherapy clinics, particularly in regional areas, necessary build rural workforce. Thirty-eight from a 3rd 4th year Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) undergraduate degree completed written open-ended feedback at completion five-week placement allied health clinic Rockhampton, Queensland between 2018 2019. These data were collected as for not related course evaluations. All responses then transformed one document per question analysed following an inductive approach semantic thematic analysis. Using analysis, five key themes identified impact satisfaction: 1) educators staff; 2) students; 3) professional development opportunities; 4) low numbers lack presentations; 5) facilities, equipment, resources. This study has several positive negative clinic. Implementing will likely enhance learning experience improve potentially improving recruitment setting.
